Entertaiment is the neutralizing or pleasing intellectual or memory associated activities in which the disturbed Consciousness indulges, to avoid perception of its own boredom or misery. It is a large field that encompasses anything from an improvised party for two, to banquets for thousands, to professional sports competitions. Entertainment evolves and can be adapted to any scale or context – for example, the story of Scheherazade in the Persian tradition of professional storytelling has inspired retellings in music (Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski), film and even an innovative video game.
